Why is school choice so important?
Every child is different. A one-size-fits-all approach to education always leaves someone behind; one child's ideal learning environment may be totally different from that of another child. That’s where school choice comes into play.
What is EnrollBR?
Enroll Baton Rouge (EnrollBR) is a common application process that pairs all children with a great education at a school that is the perfect fit for their learning style and interests. Through EnrollBR, families can find and apply to multiple free high-quality schools through one easy platform.
Looking for a *new school to attend? Or, are you new to Baton Rouge? Submit a common application through EnrollBR.
One application enables you to apply to multiple schools in 10 minutes or less. Plus, you only have to complete the application once!
EnrollBR is a project of local nonprofit New Schools for Baton Rouge. Our mission is to empower you to find a school that meets your family’s needs.
*If you are satisfied with your child’s current school and would like for them to return to that school next year, contact your child’s school to learn how to register for the next school year. Please do not submit a new EnrollBR application.
EnrollBR’s goal is for every family to easily apply and enroll in a school of their choice that fits their student’s one-of-a-kind needs. The application process ensures that all children have fair access to a great education. EnrollBR is the first step in the right direction of empowering all families with choice and all students with great schools.
Charter schools charge tuition.

Charter schools do not have admissions tests and accept students regardless of their past report cards or standardized test scores. Instead, we use a lottery system, ensuring equal access for all families.
Charter schools are not held accountable.

Charter schools, just like all public schools, are held accountable to the academic standards required by the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education. With accountability, charter schools have introduced more innovation to the education system than ever before. Charter schools have full autonomy to make decisions that best fit students, families and teachers.
Charter schools do not follow the Common Core curriculum.

All Louisiana schools follow a set of standards set by the Louisiana Department of Education, not the federal Common Core. Working within those standards, charter schools use their freedom and independence to build curriculum that works for their students.
